2015 PLATFORM / ISSUES

Bill Brand has repeatedly asserted that my 2015 platform was a “continuation of the overdevelopment philosophy that has ruled Redondo Beach for decades.”

Then Councilmember Brand never asked or bothered to understand my candidate platform because I was not his and Jim Light’s choice to blindly follow their personal and long held philosophies. That was and continues to be shortsighted considering he and I have agreed on 95% or more of the items that come before the council. As a matter of fact – many topics that Mr. Brand was unsuccessful in championing during his first six years on council suddenly had new life and came to fruition with the elections of Councilwoman Emdee (D5) and myself.

I engage in a transparent democratic process to hopefully work towards consensus during an open forum with five other individuals on Tuesday nights. If Bill Brand wants an easy Yes vote for his individual philosophies… I am not his guy. Nor have I been any previous Mayor, developer, contractor, leaseholder or donors “guy” despite the hyperbole and lies that have been repeated ad nauseum for 6 years.

So with that said… in 2015, I campaigned on specific issues & initiatives that I believed Redondo Beach needed to address. I am proud to say that through my leadership and focus we have accomplished almost all of these goals. Below are images from the mailer that outlined my 2015 Platform.
